Witness 1 - Patrick Clancy Continues... State resumes questioning.
Jan 24th 2023
Patrick is about to leave the house to get the food order. He sees Dawson on the couch eating nuggets and green beans. Lindsay mentions needing him to stop at CVS for stool softener for Cora. Leaves at about 5:15pm
Patrick leaves the house, drives approx. 3 minutes to local CVS
Once in the store he calls Lindsay at approx. 5:33pm. She doesn't answer but calls back 1 minute later at 5:34pm.
Describes the call as very brief, sounded like she was busy. He hung up and assumed she was busy bathing the kids.
He is asked if he could understand her well and if he felt she understood him and he says's yes.
He then heads to THREEv restaurant to pick up food. It takes about 10 minutes. and he's there at 5:54pm
Next is a 10-12 minute drive home. Parks in the driveway. Goes inside takes boots off and places bags on kitchen island.
Notices the house is unusually quiet. Calls out for everyone and gets no answer. Opens the door to basement and calls out again. Nothing back. Calls Lindsays phone, no answer. Started checking upstairs, First in the bathroom and no one is in there. Proceeds to the kids rooms and finds nothing. Gets to the master bedroom and found the door locked. Immediately knowing something was wrong he used a key left by previous owners to unlock the door.
Opens the door and steps in the room. Observes blood everywhere, the bed moved away from the wall and the window behind it open.
Immediately turns and runs down stair and out the back door. Looks around and sees Lindsay lying on the ground below the window face up. Head closest to the house and feet away from the house.
Calls 911, Observes deep cuts on wrist and cut across the neck. The operator asked him to apply pressure if he felt it was needed (actively bleeding). Patrick did think it was needed.
Conversation between Patrick and Lindsay as she was in and out of consciousness:
P: what happened
L: I tried to kill myself
P: where are the kids
L: They're in the basement
First responders are on scene within 4-5 minutes, take over care of Lindsay and Patrick still on the phone goes to find the kids.
Goes downstairs and to his left he sees Cora and Callen says "She killed the kids!"
Goes to Cora and removes the exercise band from her neck, Goes to Callen who is laying next to Cora and removes the exercise band from his neck.
Finds Dawson across the basement in his office, can tell he is gone but still removes the band from his neck.
Goes back to Cora and begins CPR. First responders come and take over and send him upstairs.
Children are taken to Beth Israel hospital. Patrick goes with them. eventually Callen is transferred to Boston's Children's Hospital
He was never told not to leave Lindsay alone with the kids. And all of January she never mentioned wanting to harm the children.
About 1 week later receives a call from Brigham Women's Hospital, where Lindsay was.
She tells him she heard a man's voice telling her that if she didn't do it now , she would loose her chance. she mentions nothing about psychosis and until the incident he didn't even know it was a possibility.
Patrick is dismissed for the time being with the expectation to be recalled later.
After Patrick Left....
The prosecution introduced the kids clothing from that night, the exercise bands from that night and the 911 call into evidence.
911 call is played only for the court to hear and can not be recorded or notes taken.
Jurors are asked not to be influenced by the emotions in the call. Rather just judge the evidence in the call.
During this entire time Lindsay is visibly upset, her attorney is seen holding her hand and she is wiping tears. As the 911 call proceeded, he began sobbing into her hands with her face covered and down.
RECESS IMMEDIATELY AFTER
My Opinion on this.....
Lawyer for defence Kevin Reddington is somber during this period and seems like he really cares for not just his client Lindsay but also Patrick and the kids.
Patrick remains composed but some of the prosecutors questions seemed pointless and they jumped around at times
No idea why the kids clothes needed to be shown haven't heard anything about being used for DNA and there was no blood mentioned soooo seems like they are trying to lean into triggering emotions.
Witness #2-Angela Krauss-Called by the prosecution
CVS Worker the night of Jan 24th 2023
Around 4:48 receives a call from a female looking for children's Miralax
Confirms that she could understand the caller clearly. calls it a very normal interaction

Prosecution has no more questions
No CROSS EXAMINATION from defence
Witness #3- Sariah Sweeny-Called by the Prosecution

Receives a call to place a take out order @ 5:10pm from a women

Nothing out of the ordinary about either interactions
Prosecution has no more questions
No CROSS EXAMINATION from defence
RECESS FOR LUNCH
Witness 1- Patrick Clancy returns to stand for Cross Examination.
Confirms Lindsay began working as a labour and delivery nurse on May 11th 2015. Confirms that the little girl born that day was named Cora and they choose to name their daughter Cora because that was the name of Lindsay's first delivery.
Describes her as a very dedicated mother. talks about reading to them, making up songs for them, making green eggs and ham because Cora like that book.
Confirms the house had art work and pictures hanging all over, filled with toys and rooms decorated and dedicated to the kids.
Defence offers to give Patrick a break at any time he needs as they look through facebook photos showing her as a mother with the kids.
Asks about an email sent from Patrick's laptop:
prosecution objects on the grounds of purpose of the questions
Sidebar is taken
Objection is removed after sidebar and question resumes
Confirms he sent an email @ 5:24 on Jan 24th but from his I-phone not his laptop.
Anniversary topic from previous day is brought up.
confirms that they stayed home due to Lindsay not feeling well with metadata
Notes Lindsay Clancy's health went downhill in Sept 2022, and she began seeing Dr. Jennifer Tufts.
Discuss a search made in August that the prosecution questioned about suicide, Patrick had googled an musician named Tom Hall who had committed suicide
Says Lindsay informed him of starting Zoloft on the advice from Dr. Tufts.
Said she took meds as prescribed , kept all medication in a upper kitchen cabinet. and kept a diary of meds taken and side effects.
Show's a book that was found called "Good Moms have scary thoughts"
talks about an Lindsay then consulting Nurse Practitioner Julie Paul on suggestion of Patricks mother.
At this point and until seeing Rebecca Gelato all appointments with virtual
Says from his observation after she started the Zoloft, she began having a lot sleep issues. Confirms she went 48 hours without sleep at one point.
Confirms she only seen Nurse Julie Paul once because then she was reassigned to Nurse Rebecca Gelato due to Julie Paul switching jobs.
After seeing nurse Gelato she is prescribed: benzodiazepines, Ativan, and Seroquel
He reports after starting the Seroquel she seemed to be very negatively effecting her. Which she reported to the nurse.
Talks about before insisting on an in person appointment with Nurse Gelato, all appointments were via tele health and maybe 20 minutes long.
Is asked about Lindsay's condition in the beginning of December. Responds sleep deprived and highly anxious. She would be found sitting on the couch rocking back and forth with her head in a pillow. Nurse was informed of this
Nurse Gelato then increases the Seroquel and something to taper of the Benzodiazepines.
Confirms Lindsay actually had concerns of potentially being addicted to some meds and that she wasn't a drug addict shopping around.
Mid December he takes her to women's and Infants health centre. Later in the afternoon from Lindsay saying you have to come get me, the doctors want to talk to you and want you to come in when you get here. They explain that the program is not a good fit for Lindsay.
Both their parents came out between thanksgiving and Christmas day to help out with the kids and house.
December 31st they go to Mass General emergency department and checks herself into Maclean Hospital (A locked ward facility)
Recalls her seeing a Dr. Goodheart on the second to last day of her stay, recommended another medication to discuss with her doctor.
After 5 days she was released which was one day before he daughter birthday party. she didn't initiate the check out, the doctors did. she goes back to Dr Tufts.
In November he did a 2 day work trip, and Lindsay stayed home with the children. and he went out for guys nights occasionally that Lindsay stayed home with the kids.
Defence acknowledges that if she had wanted / planned to do this. she could have done it on any of those indications. as opposed to a quick trip to get meds and food.
Confirms she kept a notebook regarding Callen's feedings and naps, not to be controlling but out of care and love and that he found it helpful
Redirect from prosecution:
Discuss that at 5:24 when the email was sent he wouldn't have been in the house because he was at cvs about to go in.
Discuss that they had plans for their anniversary prior and had texted about it but had to cancel
Redirects the suicide searches to indicate Lindsay searched them.
Confirms that Patrick didn't watch her take meds so he can't be sure that it was taken properly
Discuss meds prescribed to Lindsay from maclean and her stay there as well as she was there voluntarily meaning she could leave anytime as long as she wasn't deemed and danger to herself or others.
Left Maclean on trazodone and Ativan and was prescribed Amitriptyline
Court ends for the day
My Opinion on this.....
LONG day in court, Witness 2 and 3 really weren't needed as there is video footage with time stamps and the state seems to be implying that because she was talking clearly and not slurring words that she couldn't have been in a psychosis episode.
It's sad how much help they tried to get her and didn't seem to receive the help they needed
the documenting of the baby's schedule isn't controlling, its being a mom
