Outside the court today
A gathering of support for Lindsay, People express how they are there for her and for all the women who have been diminished, dismissed or mistreated by the health system. They believe the mental health system failed Lindsay and wish her the opportunity to get better. Many work in the health care system. Note: they were peacefully lined up across the court, most wearing pink. They also Show strong support for Kevin reddington and thank him for "advocating on behalf of women". Mr. Reddington says Lindsay is sad and "beaten up" (not physically) and that this really shows the message of lack of proper care in the mental health system.
Witness #9- Sheila Cavanaugh- Called by defence
Board certified Chaplin at Brigham Hospital
Talks about her first visit she observed a large amount officers outside of her room
Visited Lindsay throughout her time at Brigham hospital, Spalding rehab and Tukesbury state facility where she is currently at.
Lindsay confided in her hearing a voice in several meetings
Lindsay expressed being glad her children are safe in heaven.
they would pray together
she said Lindsay talks about her children frequently, misses them dearly and carries Immense grief.
Seen Lindsay once a week up until the start of trial
explains how her conversations are privileged and her notes are based on observations and sometimes at her discretion small quotes from the patient
On cross/recross
It's determined that the large amount of officers were only there that day collecting evidence.
She acknowledges that while she wrote detailed notes about her visits none of them included Lindsay hearing a voice
Lindsay displayed hope in regaining function in her legs and being able to walk again
Lindsay was uplifted in the Chaplins opinion to be transferred to Spalding as they are known to give great care and she would be able to get help.
Prosecution questions why she wrote some of Lindsay's thoughts or words in notes and didn't in others
Thoughts on this witness: very soft spoken and not aware of things she could say like what someone said to hear (also called hearsay) seems like this may be the first time she has had to testify.
